Our history/culture
Faleck & Associados was founded with a clear mission: to develop the field of consensual dispute resolution in Brazil and globally through technical excellence, social impact, and institutional innovation. Established by Diego Faleck in 2011, our firm has pioneered business mediation, strategic negotiation, and Dispute Systems Design (DSD), creating a unique practice model in the country that is now emulated and recognized both nationally and internationally.
Our history is built on a solid intellectual foundation, forged through direct experience with luminaries from Harvard Law School — including Frank Sander, Roger Fisher, and Robert Mnookin — and is expressed in a practice that bridges cutting-edge theory with transformative results. We were the first to introduce the concept of DSD in Brazil, applying it at scale in landmark cases such as TAM, Air France, Mariana, Brumadinho, and Maceió.
From our inception, we have also been educators. We developed the first university-level negotiation and mediation courses based on the Harvard methodology, created a pioneering training program for international competitions — leading to Brazil’s victory at the ICC Mediation Competition in Paris — and continue to serve as active mentors, lecturers, professors, and researchers. Our partners are regular contributors to top-tier publications, academic events, and training initiatives across the country and abroad.
