Roberto Baumgarten Kuster received his LL.B. degree from the Federal University of Espírito Santo (2011), an M.A. in tax law, an M.A. in diplomatic studies, and an LL.M. degree with merit from the University College London (2015). He is a Ph.D. candidate at Radboud Universiteit Nijmegen in the Netherlands.

He was recognized as a Future Leader in Commercial Litigation by the respected Who’s Who Legal ranking in 2021 and 2022. He has authored national and international publications in dispute resolution and related fields.

Roberto worked as a contract and litigation lawyer (2013-2016) and as the Business Development Manager at the Center for Arbitration and Mediation of the Chamber of Commerce Brazil-Canada (2018-2019).

Roberto was the coach of the Federal University of Espírito Santo’s mediation team and has helped the team to win the awards of “best negotiator team” (2017) and “best speaker” (2018) of the largest mediation competition in Latin America. He also coached da National Law School of India University and now coaches INSPER.

Kuster teaches mediation, negotiation, and DSD at INSPER, IBMEC/SP, Mackenzie, UNISINOS, FDV, and UFES and holds the IMI Certification – Qualifying Accessing Program Level 2.

Roberto joined Faleck & Associados in October 2016 and has been working as a negotiator, mediator, and facilitator. He has been allocated in compensation programs with the use of facilitation and mediation, stemming from major national tragedies and complex situations. He has conducted hundreds of mediations/facilitations and collaborated with project and people management and training of mediation teams.
