Partnering is a managerial best practice aimed at preventing and mitigating disputes in projects that involve two or more organizations, by aligning and bringing them closer during the life of the venture. Partnering: (i) reorients adversarial positions to a mutual gains perspective; (ii) establishes an opened communication process; (iii) establish methods to deal with disputes; (iv) creates a collaborative environment; (v) makes possible the perception of greater economic benefits; (vi) improve relationships, and (vii) avoids litigation.

During the different stages of a joint project, a facilitator conducts a number of scheduled and organized meetings to assist the parties in risk allocation, encourage teamwork, to promote the prompt resolution of emerging problems and achieve common objectives, with the selection of intelligent dispute management and resolution processes.
