Fernanda Tartuce holds a Masters and a PhD degree in Procedural Law from the University of São Paulo (USP) and authored several seminal mediation writings in Brazil, including books and articles. She is a mediator, with experience in business ad hoc and institutional mediations.

Fernanda served as mediator in the Compensation Program 447 (PI 447), a mediation program that provided compensation for the victims of the Air France Flight 447 airplane crash (2009, Rio de Janeiro-Paris). The program involved public authorities, airline companies and the victims’ families. The PI 447 resulted on successful mediations and compensated approximately 80 victims’ beneficiaries.

Fernanda is registered as a mediator at the chambers of CIESP/FIESP; Chamber of Commerce Brazil Canada (CCBC); Brazilian Center for Mediation and Arbitration (CBMA); FGV Chamber of Mediation and Arbitration; Italian Chamber of Commerce of São Paulo (Italcam). She is a member of the Mediation Commission of FIESP / CIESP.

Fernanda is a professor at the Doctoral and Master’s Program at the Faculdade Autônoma do Direito (FADISP), coordinator and professor in specialization courses at the Escola Paulista de Direito (EPD), visiting professor at the Escola Superior de Advocacia of OAB (the Brazilian BAR Superior School), coordinator of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Center at the University of São Paulo, and frequent lecturer at the same university. Fernanda is a lawyer, counselor for the Pro Bono Legal Department XI de Agosto, from the University of São Paulo, President of the Civil Procedure Commission of IBDFAM (Brazilian Family Law Institute). Director of CEAPRO (Center for Advanced Process Studies), member of IBDP (Brazilian Institute of Procedural Law) and IASP (Institute of Lawyers of São Paulo).
