Ana Carolina Viana Riella is a professional mediator certified by the Harvard Mediation Program (Cambridge, USA). She holds an LL.M. degree from the Georgetown University (Washington DC, USA) and from the Université de Paris II – Panthéon-Assas (Paris, France). She currently works as the Outreach and Case Coordinator at the Harvard Mediation Program and mediates cases in district courts in the Boston area.

Ana Carolina served as mediator in the Compensation Program 447 (PI 447), a mediation program that provided compensation for the victims of the Air France Flight 447 airplane crash (2009, Rio de Janeiro-Paris). The program involved public authorities, airline companies and the victims’ families. The PI 447 resulted on successful mediations and compensated approximately 80 victims’ beneficiaries.

Previous work experience includes: mediator and researcher at the Boston Law Collaborative (Boston, MA), where she worked with Harvard University’s renowned mediator and mediation professor David Hoffman; legal adviser to Invus investment fund (New York, USA); International Associate at the American law firm Simpson Thacher and Bartlett LLP in New York (USA); lawyer for the Renault SAS company in Paris (France) and trainee at the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) International Court of Arbitration in Paris, one of the world’s leading alternative dispute resolution and arbitration chambers. Ana Carolina is fluent in Portuguese, English, French and Spanish.
